Case Fit® Foams

UFP Technologies' Case Fit® foam selection represents the top foams used for protective case foam inserts. With over 40 years of foam fabrication experience and our partnerships will all the major foam manufacturers you can rest assured that we can specify the right foam for your application and provide it at a competitive price. The families of foams that UFP Technologies primarily uses for fabricating case inserts are polyethylene foams, cross-linked polyethylene foams and polyurethane foams.

Cross-linked Polyethylene Foam

Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) is the typically regarded as the highest quality packaging foam.  It can be used to create long-lasting and extremely durable inserts that are the most aesthetically pleasing of all foam families.

XLPE foam has many of the same benefits as polyethylene foam but also has the ability to protect class "A" surfaces.  Past UFP Technologies projects that have used XLPE as an interior foam insert include medical products, medical equipment and sales presentation kits.

Our certified packaging engineers have hand-selected the following foams as the best for cross-linked polyethylene foam case inserts.  Please call the UFP Technologies today to receive over the phone pricing for a cross-linked polyethylene foam insert and protective case solution.

Variations of XLPE include:

  • Premium cross-linked polyethylene foam
  • Conductive cross-linked polyethylene foam
  • 2 lb. density cross-linked polyethylene foam

Polyethylene Foam

Polyethylene foam provides great protection and durability for the interior of your case.  It is a durable, lightweight material that is non-abrasive, non-dusting, and easy to fabricate.  It exhibits excellent shock absorption and is impervious to mildew mold, rot and bacteria.  These qualities along with its excellent vibration dampening and insulation properties and high resistance to chemicals and moisture make it ideal for packaging heavier items and for material handling applications.

Polyethylene foam is easy to process and form and has high load bearing characteristics that help manufacturers reduce packaging costs as they can use thinner and smaller amounts of foam yet still protect products.

Our certified packaging engineers have hand-selected the following foams as the best for polyethylene foam case inserts.  Please call the UFP Technologies today to receive over the phone pricing for a polyethylene foam insert and protective case solution.

  • Case Fit EP – Premium polyethylene foam
  • Case Fit E2 – 2 lb. density polyethylene foam
  • Case Fit E4 – 4 lb. density polyethylene foam
  • Case Fit EA – Anti-static polyethylene foam

Polyurethane Foam

Polyurethane foam provides excellent protection for light-weight, delicate objects with high fragility and/or lower drop height maximum.  This open-cell foam provides excellent cushioning at a very reasonable cost and can be easily molded or cut to fit one's particular application. It is used regularly in medical packaging where abrasion resistance is required and comes in a range of densities and colors.

Our certified packaging engineers have hand-selected the following foam manufacturers as the best providers for polyethylene foam materials.  Please call the UFP Technologies today to receive over the phone pricing for a polyurethane foam insert and protective case solution.

  • Case Fit U1 – 1.2 lb. density polyurethane foam
  • Case Fit U2 – 2 lb. density polyurethane foam
  • Case Fit UA – Anti-Static polyurethane foam
